There’s nothing like fresh tomatoes from the garden! If you have them, this is a simple recipe to make for a snack or as a side for a picnic or dinner party.
4-6 Washed & sliced tomatoes
4-8 Fresh basil leaves
1-2 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar
Sea salt & Pepper to taste
Olive oil (optional)
Dice up your washed tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Take about 4-8 basil leaves and chop them up finely and sprinkle it in the tomato bowl. Add the balsamic vinegar, sea salt and a dash of pepper. I like adding a drizzle of olive oil to combine all the flavors but it is very tasty without it as well.
If you want to jazz it up you can add any of the below ingredients (if you eat dairy) –
