With Halloween just a couple of days away, I wanted to share a couple quick last-minute festive ideas to help you celebrate without shoving sugar down your throat creating that oh so nice sugar high followed by a quick crash and utter sluggishness afterwards.

These two pictures are ones that a Health Coach friend and I tested out – big hits at our “Haunted Truth About Sugar” class. They didn’t take much time and they will leave you munching away without any bad side effects. The skeleton could be made with carrots or jicama or strips of cucumber instead of circle slices of cucumber. The options are limitless!

A few others I have seen floating around the web that I love are making deviled eggs and cutting a black olive on top to look like a spider. Ham rolls with almond slivers out the ends to look like fingers. Carrots with greens and dip to look like a pumpkin, Apples with almond slivers to look like mouths. Get creative! Think of your favorite Halloween themed object and how you can make a healthy food out of it. Or just borrow other people’s cool ideas and make something festive,  fun and healthy!
