What’s Stopping You From Being the You that YOU Want to be?

“I want to lose weight.”
“I want a new job.”
“I want to be stronger.”
“I want to spend more time with my friends and family.”
“I want to exercise more often.”
“I want to eat better.”
“I want to save money and spend more wisely.”

Do any of these sound familiar? What “reasons” aka excuses follow your statements of desire? Often times we get stuck by fear and remain in our comfortable holding pattern we have created for ourselves. It’s time to break free, seriously. When was the last time you created action behind your goal? Imagine what life would look like, feel like, be like when your goal or desire becomes your reality? Pretty frigging’ amazing I’m guessing. Time to get empowered my friend. Change is possible, you are capable and strong enough to be the person you want to become and have the life you dream of. I believe in you.

Tell yourself the truth. What is really keeping your from change? What is at the root of holding you back? Once you have identified this, know that you don’t have to be that person anymore. Time to move forward and excel! Your awesome life awaits you.

Our bodies are our vehicles that allow us to do the things we love and enjoy. If we aren’t fueling our bodies appropriately, how can we expect our bodies to perform the way we would like? How can we expect we will continue to enjoy and get the most out of the things we love if we continue to feel less than great?

Whatever you are wanting to change in your life, write it down. Write it in a positive, affirming statement. Follow it up with a date you want it to happen by. Chances are if you are already thinking about this specific thing in your life that you want or want to change, this will help you make a statement and commitment to the universe that you are ready to take action and responsibility. Next, tell yourself you are going to do it. No more excuses. Why would you wait until each tomorrow to get what you want today? It just doesn’t make sense. For example, if you have been feeling crappy because you aren’t happy with your body, you are tired and sluggish, not as strong as you used to be and you know you need to improve your health, why do you continue to put off feeling amazing? It is not too late to make change for your health. You are beautiful. Your body wants to do you right and have you be proud and confident in your skin. But it’s a team effort, your body can only do as well as you chose to fuel it. Small changes will result in more sustainable long-lasting healthy habits. change and honesty

After you have stated your commitment to the Universe, chose one step each week that can help you make strides in that direction. Small actionable steps. Write it down underneath that statement or set yourself a reminder in your calendar or on your phone. Assist yourself in creating accountability, you are creating success for yourself by making small shifts in your day. Breaking away from your “comfortable” patterns and old habits. Do you have someone you can tell that you are trying to make a change in your life so they can help hold you accountable or check in with you? We all need support at times and it’s healthy to reach out. Perhaps it is a friend or a co-worker who shares a similar desire, potentially you could end up inspiring someone else to make change in their life by reaching out.

Don’t let fear get in the way of what you want. Punch fear in the face. That’s what I have to tell myself when I become aware that fear has crept in and is trying to keep me from becoming what I know I can become. Continue to visualize what your life will look like once your change has been adapted and set in place. Really feel what that will be like, be your vision.

When you start to accomplish your weekly tasks towards your bigger goal or desire, celebrate that! Celebrate you! If your go-to is celebrating with ice cream, perhaps you try celebrating with some of your favorite tunes and go on a walk for 15 minutes, noticing how much more alive and energized you are feeling. Another idea could be by putting the change that you would purchase your afternoon coffees into a jar and by yourself some devilishly good-looking new clothing items to sport your beautifully changing body. Do something nice for you, thank your body and mind for it’s hard work to help your work towards your best you!
