There is so much you can do with cabbage! I am growing it my garden and can not wait until it is ready for me to eat it. Yum. Besides making coselaw, using it to wrap burgers, slicing it and using it in stir fry’s, I have come to love sautéing it to eat as a side dish to accompany chicken, steak or even a pork chop. The best part about it (besides that it tastes amazing) is it is very simple and quick to do.
Depending on how many you are serving or if you want to do left overs, you can use a half or full cabbage head. I’ll do the recipe for half the cabbage –
Half cabbage, sliced thinly
1.5 Tablespoons of clarified organic butter or ghee, you can also use olive oil
1/3 cup of beef broth
Salt & pepper to taste
Melt butter, let sliced cabbage saute in the butter, add salt, pepper and a dash of onion powder. Once it has sautéed for about 8 minutes, it starts to become softer, add the beef broth, let it soak in for another 4-5 minutes. Enjoy!
